Its Praggnanandhaa vs Magnus Carlsen Again!

Norway Chess, a highly esteemed chess competition held every year in Stavanger, will feature Indian talent Praggnanandhaa in the six-player open category, challenging renowned players such as World No 1 Magnus Carlsen and current World Champion Ding Liren.

Pragg, who is 18 years old, is not the sole Indian participant in the tournament: Indian Grandmasters Koneru Humpy and Vaishali Rameshbabu will also be present, competing in the women's section at Norway Chess.

Pragg will take on some of the biggest names in chess, including World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen, reigning World Champion Ding Liren, World No. 2 Fabiano Caruana, World No. 3 Hikaru Nakamura and World No. 6 Alireza Firouzja.
Meanwhile, Koneru and Vaishali will be part of an elite team comprised of women's world champion Ju Wenjun, world number four Lei Tingjie, world number seven Anna Muzychuk and Pia Cramling.

The event has attracted some of the world's biggest names since it began in 2013. The biggest draw at this year's Norwegian tournament will be the meeting of 18-year-old Pragnanandhaa and Magnus Carlsen in classic format. The duo famously met in the longer version of the sport in the final of the FIDE World Championship. Here Pragnanandhaa lost to Magnus Carlsen but secured a spot in the Candidate's Tournament.

Prior to the Norwegian Chess Tournament, Pragnanandhaa and Magnus Carlsen competed against each other in the recent Superbet Rapid and Blitz Polish tournaments, where the world number one won the title despite losing to Pragg on the penultimate day.
